Distinctives

Trinitarian God

We believe in one Triune God existing in three distinct persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

Matt 3:16-17; 2 Cor. 13:14

The Word of God

We believe in the sufficiency, inspiration, inerrancy, and infallibility of the 66 books of the Bible. We believe the Bible has supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice.

2 Tim 3:16-17; Acts 20:32

Creation

We believe God is infinite in power and might and He created everything out of nothing.

Gen 1:1; Col 1:16-17

Anthropology and Marriage

We believe God created mankind with two genders: male and female. Marriage is an institution created by God as the union between one man and one woman. Marriage ultimately points to the true everlasting marriage of Jesus Christ and His bride, the church

Gen 1:27; Gen 2:24; Eph 5:31-32

Human Identity

We believe God is infinite in power and might and He created everything out of nothing.

Gen 1:1; Col 1:16-17

God’s Sovereignty and Providence

We believe God has determined the end from the beginning. There is nothing in all creation that takes place outside of the sovereign rule of God.

Isaiah 46:9-10; Psalm 103:19

Hypostatic Union

We believe Jesus is one person with two natures, truly God and truly man, not to be confused or confounded. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin.

John 1:1,14; Phil 2:5-8

Penal Substitutionary Atonement

We believe Jesus Christ took the punishment for sinners by suffering and dying on the cross in their place. Humanity's sins incurred divine wrath, which Jesus bore as a substitute, thereby satisfying the demands of justice and reconciling humanity with God.

Isaiah 53:4-6; 2 Cor 5:21

Total Depravity

We believe mankind is utterly incapable of understanding or remedying his fallen state apart from God’s help. Salvation is only possible by grace alone through faith alone.

Rom 3:10-12; Eph 2:1-3,8-9

Sanctification and Perseverance

We believe every born again believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit and marked by faith and repentance. We believe those who are truly born again will continue in faith and obedience to Christ upheld by God’s grace to endure trials, resist temptation, and grow in spiritual maturity.

Phil 1:6; John 10:27-29; Rom 6:22; Gal 5:22-23

The Church

We believe in the universal body of Christ. We believe Jesus is the head of the church. Every believer is joined to the church in order to use their gifts to build it up in love.

Eph 4:15-16; 1 Cor 12:12-13

Preaching

We believe in the authoritative proclamation of Scripture as a central aspect to worship and life in the Church, aiming to teach, rebuke, correct, and train believers in righteousness. Preachers are viewed as called by God to faithfully expound the Bible, guiding the congregation in spiritual growth and adherence to Christian doctrine.

2 Tim 4:2; Acts 20:27

Elders and Deacons

We believe in the practice of the offices of Elders and Deacons within the church.  Elders are men responsible for the spiritual oversight and leadership of the congregation tasked with teaching, preaching, shepherding the flock, and ensuring sound doctrine. Deacons are responsible for maintaining unity among the congregation by serving the church’s day-to-day functions and supporting congregational needs.

1 Tim 3:1-13; Acts 6:1-7

Heaven and Hell

We believe at the point of death, a person is appointed either to eternal paradise present with God if they believe the gospel of Jesus Christ or to everlasting punishment separated from God if they reject the gospel.

John 3:16-18; Rev 20:11-15

New Creation

We believe in the blessed hope of Jesus Christ’s return, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the establishment of God’s eternal kingdom

1 Thess 4:16-17; Rev 21:1-4
